What is MMoS?

To cover the vast range of business and photography issues MMoS delegates bring to the table, each MMoS day is divided into three separate learning sections.

Around the Table

Each day begins with an around the table discussion to address delegate-specific issues and forms the fundamental platform for teaching business technique, marketing, branding and sales. Around the table is where great businesses are built!

In the Studio

After lunch, we move on to study photographic technique and its practical application with hands-on group work. This can be as diverse as the mastery of light itself!

We may look at a light modifiers, their application and effects, three point lighting, accent lights, kickers, koualoris, location shoots er al!

In short, everything you need to know to become a well-rounded competent photographer with a professional skill level. A skill level which will ultimately allow you to tackle and meet any photographic eventuality or remit in both the personal and professional arena.

Critique Time

We conclude the day with group critique time; longer standing MMoS members have stated this can be the most valuable part of the day.

With his international judging pedigree and past role of Head of Qualifications with The Societies, put simply Damian knows what works with regards composition, posing and presentation. His 15 years in the latter role has provided a professional insight into image quality at distinction and competition level.

During critique time we project and annotate student's images, add diagrams and shading, fundamentally whatever is required to ensure students are aware of how to implement any changes which may be advised to move them forward on their photographic journey.

Learning within a group environment gives students a wider knowledge of all photography genres as they are in the privileged position of being present during their peers' critiques too.
